Lesson 1: Gathering Your Tools

Let's talk about what you actually need. A basic kit includes student-grade watercolour paints (a pan set is great to start), a round brush (size 6 or 8 is versatile), watercolour paper (at least 200gsm or 90lb to prevent buckling), and two jars for water. Don't forget a palette (a ceramic plate works wonders) and some kitchen roll for blotting.
