About
Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, Crooked Mouth is the studio project of songwriter-guitarist Ken Campbell. Drawing on influences from across four decades - from Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Rush to more modern exponents of progressive and art rock such as The Mars Volta and Porcupine Tree - Ken has been writing, performing and recording music since the mid-1980s. Crooked Mouth has been his main recording project since the early 2000’s, achieving ‘an eclectic mix of post-modern, art, and progressive rock’. From the self-titled acoustic led debut album in 2003, through a phase of hard-edged rock suffused with electronics (Hold in the Sun, 2007), and the dynamic and vocally lush One Bright Midnight in 2015, Crooked Mouth has tapped into classic and progressive rock influences old and new to deliver music that “just shines with sincerity, originality and a genuine inspiration and often borders on magical...” (ProgressoR). Or, as Geoff Barton over at Classic Rock Magazine noted: “..prog at its most eclectic and musicianly”. Lost:Time is the fourth album from Crooked Mouth and takes the mountainous rock style and soaring vocals from previous work to new heights.
