Born under a full moon. in the heart of a Canadian winter, Toronto area based Singer/Songwriter, Michael david Wolf, has been writing/recording and performing original songs most of his life. As a child, his family vinyl collection turned him on to Elvis, The Beatles, The Who, Rush, KISS, Meatloaf, Bob Seger... Michael began developing his emotive, raspy, and at times, operatic vocal style at an early age. He began writing lyrics and melodies at the age of 13; and taught himself guitar at 18. His teen years were informed by the likes of AC/DC, Riverdogs, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Warrant, Anthrax, Queensryche, and Dream Theater. This combination of Pop sensibility, raw Rock edge and Progressive bombast, shaped his undeniably unique sound. His vocal prowess, and writing abilities, soon became a sought after commodity. As a performer, Michael began cutting his teeth on the club stages of Canada in the mid 90’s. In various bands; He has shared stages with Varga, Prong, Hellyeah, Nothing More, Pop Evil, Glen Drover, Tim “Ripper” Owens, etc. From 2014-16, Michael wrote lyrics/melodies for 2 Crawl EP’s, and toured with the band in Ontario, Quebec, and New York City. In 2017, Michael had the pleasure of working on solo material with one of his all-time favourites; Rob Lamothe. Michael returned to the studio with long-time colleague and collaborator, Sean Gregory (Dr. Sean) in 2020. The result of which produced the EP Heavy Hopeful, a 4 song offering that features Metal Goddess Lindsay Schoolcraft, and Guitar Great; Joe Di Taranto. In 2021, Michael and Sean began a writing collaboration for the upcoming album Undeniable The album was released on May 1/25 , and features 11 songs that showcase the shared influences, and commitment to craftsmanship, that solidifies the bond between these two songwriters. Fresh, yet familiar; Michael is a force to be reckoned with!
