Sterno

About

Sterno is a musical project created by the couple Ruben Gentekos and Tyra Rachel Torp-Bangsund, both of whom have deep roots in various musical genres. The couple resides in southern Norway, where they have built their own home studio, recording and producing their own music. Over the years, Ruben and Rachel have collaborated on several musical projects, including as the duo Agdir, a Nordic/ambient project that captures the sounds of Nordic landscapes and traditions. Ruben has also made a name for himself in the black/viking metal scene with the band Blot and through collaborations with other bands in this genre. Rachel, on the other hand, has contributed as a guest vocalist and lyricist for Sun and Moon Dance, as well as other projects within ambient and world music. Both have also worked with the renowned artist Kjell Braaten (formerly of Wardruna) as guest musicians and vocalists on his release Ferd. In addition to music, Ruben and Rachel have a strong interest in creating music videos, both for themselves and for other artists. Sterno was born out of a desire to explore a new musical direction. Through Sterno, they combine a retro-electronica sound with modern pop and electronic productions, creating a unique blend of nostalgia and contemporary music. Their goal is to reach a mature audience while also inviting a younger generation into their distinctive musical world.
