'TAKEAWAYS burst onto the scene in 2020 when Marco Goldfuss (vocals and guitar), Moritz Eickhoff (lead guitar), Jannik Schaefer (bass), and Thomas Baum (drums) formed a band during their studies. They first took to the stage at an open mic night, where they played under the name "Too Late for Takeaways," a nod to their shared frustration of always missing the cutoff for late-night food orders. Eventually, the band shortened the name to TAKEAWAYS, keeping the spirit of the original.' The sound of TAKEAWAYS is a powerful blend of energetic, guitar-driven indie rock and alternative rock, characterized by catchy melodies and genuine lyrics about the challenges of everyday life. Their music is authentic and straightforward, yet on stage, it unfolds an unmistakable dynamism that captivates the audience. The band’s diverse musical influences ensure that each show has a unique atmosphere—sometimes inviting sing-alongs, other times encouraging dancing, but always brimming with energy that gets people moving. Performances at Germany's largest campus festival, the AStA Sommerfestival, as well as at venues like the Tsunami Club in Cologne and FZW Dortmund, have convincingly showcased the live potential of TAKEAWAYS.
