About
The Stash Collective is the musical partnership of Sussex based Bassist/Producer Alex Borg and Guitarist Rowan Chapman. The duo first met playing records together at various club nights in Brighton and Worthing and began making music during the first covid lockdowns as a way to escape the heavy atmosphere that hung over the nation. Through a shared love of funk, soul, jazz, psychedelia and hip hop, they released their soundtrack inspired debut album ‘Gettin Even’ in 2021 followed by several singles throughout 2022 Under the name 'Pale Sabres'. As lockdown eased, their sound expanded, and they began to collaborate with other musicians. This has now seen them set up their own label ‘Stash Recordings’ and their own club nights. A DIY ethos and freedom to explore any genres allows them to experiment and keep things fresh. Their first single 'Downstairs to Dance' is an unashamed disco banger featuring acclaimed vocalist Laura Vane who has collaborated with artists such as The Streets, MJ Cole and Gnarls Barkley.
