Thatcham Ironing is the booking, collection and delivery service. The ironing itself is carried out by our local pressing specialists. You get one point of contact for the whole job: us. By booking a collection you agree to these terms.
The rate card on this site is the whole story: the price shown when you book is the price you pay, plus the collection fee where your order is under the free-collection threshold shown. Payments are processed by Stripe. If you use "request collection first", nothing is charged until we have confirmed your total and you have told us to go ahead.
Typical turnaround is 48 hours and your collection window is confirmed by message when we accept the order. Turnaround times are estimates, not guarantees; where something outside our control causes delay, we will keep you informed and our responsibility is limited to completing the work or refunding it as set out below.
Please empty pockets, give an accurate postcode and access notes, and only book items that are suitable for pressing with accurate care labels. Delicate or high-value items, including silk, leather, beaded or embellished garments and anything worth more than £100, must be flagged to us before collection; we may decline them or accept them only on agreed conditions. Items not flagged are accepted on the basis they are ordinary garments.
Check your items within 24 hours of delivery and tell us straight away. We will re-press the affected items free of charge, or refund what you paid for them, whichever you prefer.
For damage to or loss of an item, our liability is limited to ten times the price charged to press that item, and our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for inherent weaknesses or defects in garments, pre-existing damage, colour runs or shrinkage in items with missing or inaccurate care labels, items left in pockets, or items that should have been flagged under the paragraph above and were not. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Ironing Pro costs £2.50 a month and gives 15% off every collection while it is active. It renews monthly until cancelled. Cancel any time by message or from your account: your discount runs to the end of the paid month and no further payments are taken. Membership fees already paid are not refundable.
