Basil & Bond

Neighbourhood pizzeria · sample business

The oven and the leaf: a ball of dough-coloured brick in stretcher bond, one basil leaf laid on it, set like a painted shop sign.

About this identity

Construction. Disc with mortar courses cut as chords (nothing breaks the edge) and one basil leaf; signwriter's fat-face live type.

Type. Name in Abril Fatface, tagline in Work Sans; both are Google Fonts under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, so they can be edited, embedded in your downloads and used commercially.

Original. The symbol is ashdub.’s own vector drawing, made for this system; it is not a stock icon or a trace.

Name. 'Brick & Basil' is a working wood-fired pizzeria (Norwich, CT): renamed. 'Basil & Bond' — no business found. Fictional sample. Not a trademark clearance.
