Choosing

Four questions we ask about a cloth.

  1. Wear

Rated in rubs: 25,000 for a family sofa, 15,000 for an occasional chair

  2. Cleaning

Removable loose covers, or a cloth that sponges clean

  3. Fire

Every cloth we fit meets the furniture fire regulations, or has a barrier underneath

  4. Your own

Bring your own cloth and we check it is up to the job first

In the studio

Handle the cloth on the chair it is for.

We bring up to twelve samples to the visit, or lay them over the piece in the studio. Reclaimed cloth is welcome if there is enough of it and it is sound; send a photograph of a label or a cutting and we will try to match an existing chair.

  • Up to twelve samples at the visit
  • Your own or reclaimed cloth checked first
  • Pattern matched across seat and back
