Getting there
Take any train to Circular Quay station. From the platform, it is a scenic and flat 5-10 minute walk around the harbour to the Opera House entrance.
Driving is not recommended. The Wilson Car Park is located directly underneath the Opera House, but it is expensive and access can be congested. It is much easier to use public transport.
From Sydney Airport (SYD), take the Airport Link train service directly to Circular Quay station. The journey is fast and efficient, taking approximately 20 minutes.
Before the show, after the encore
Situated on the lower concourse of the Opera House, this is arguably the bar with the best view in Sydney. It is the quintessential place for a pre-show glass of wine while watching the harbour.
This historic neighbourhood is a 10-minute walk away and is full of characterful old pubs. Visit The Fortune of War or The Glenmore for a classic Aussie beer before the performance.

This modern food court opposite Circular Quay station has many late-night dining options. You can grab anything from a quick burger at Betty's Burgers to Asian street food.
Instead of rushing home, take a late-night ferry to Manly or another destination. Seeing the city lights from the water is a magical way to end the evening.
Know before you go
In the Concert Hall, the central stalls (Circle, Boxes A-K) offer balanced acoustics. In the Joan Sutherland Theatre, the front of the Circle provides the best overall view for opera and ballet. Avoid seats with restricted views, noted at booking.
The venue is a 5 to 7-minute walk from the Circular Quay transport hub, which serves ferries, trains, and buses from all over Sydney. Driving is not recommended as parking is limited and expensive.
The Opera House has several high-end dining options, including the famous Bennelong restaurant, as well as more casual foyer bars for pre-show drinks. The Opera Bar on the lower concourse offers world-class views.
